Chippenham Park is a gorgeous, English country house wedding venue, in Cambridgeshire. It’s managed with passion, perfection and personal pride by Hugo and Becca. For them, it’s their much loved ancestral home. And, they’re the current ‘guardians’ of this graceful redbrick building and its stunning gardens.
It’s a fabulous place for getting married, and one that I love to work at as a wedding photographer. So, let’s look at how gorgeous it is in a bit more detail…..
The house interiors are beautiful and elegant. There’s a sense of balance and proportion throughout. And that really appeals to my creative eye! For anyone visiting it feels welcoming and relaxed.
I adore the Bridal Suite. It’s on the ground floor and the views onto the gardens are just lovely. I’ve taken some of my favourite bridal prep photos here. Oh, and the bride and groom can stay here for their wedding night.
So where to hold your ceremony in the house? One of my favourites is The Old Ballroom. This is old world gorgeousness – think antique paintings and a piano. You can even have a pianist provide music for your walk down the aisle. How elegant is that?
I saw Chippenham Park’s gardens long before I saw the house. They’re lovely in midsummer with the scent of lavender and roses hanging in the air. And of course, you can get married at the Lakeside Summer House. It’s riotously romantic surrounded by pretty climbing roses. But, if that doesn’t take your fancy, there’s always the refined elegance of the Gazebo.
Once the ceremony is complete you can wander back to the house for drinks. Perhaps celebrate on the rose lined terrace (in fine weather at least). An English garden party at its best….
So, you’ve quaffed a glass of champagne and caught up with guests. But of course you’ll want to celebrate more! What better place than the lakeside marquee? Well, to my mind that’s pretty hard to beat. The marquee’s clear window walls allow fabulous views of the lake. And as night falls the marquee comes alive with soft light. Dance, chill out, have fun…….
Gabrielle and Tony’s outdoor wedding ceremony that I photographed at Chippenham Park is lovely. They had their ceremony at the Summer House, and they’re one of my feature weddings. Take a look and fall in love with the epitome of an English summer wedding.
There’s so much opportunity for perfect wedding photos at Chippenham Park.
