A selection of some of my favourite wedding venues
Looking for your special wedding venue? Do you dream of finding somewhere that bit different for your day? Somewhere that says elegance, luxury, and ‘speaks’ to you as somewhere that is just utterly gorgeous? If the answer is yes then read on. I’ve been lucky enough to discover and work at some amazing wedding venues throughout the UK and Europe and would love to share with you a small selection of my favourites.
Romantic Castles
Think of a dreamy castle nestling on the shores of Lake Garda with magnificent views across the sparkling blue waters of the lake from its turreted walls, or an ancient castle above Florence with magnificent Duomo and the beauties of Florence laid out below its fortified walls…..or perhaps something more intimate nestled in the Tuscan countryside, an utterly unique and private space for a wildly romantic day.
Ancestral Homes
Imagine beautiful grand ancestral homes such as Woburn Abbey with its exquisite Orangery, or the perfumed knot gardens at Great Fosters. These are homes that have a long history of real life, of love and quite often Royal romance – what more could you want for the most romantic day of your life?
Historic Colleges
The hallowed halls of Cambridge and Oxford, many backing directly onto the rivers that run through these beautiful cities are incredible and recognised worldwide. Punt along the river to your celebrations, cross gorgeous bridges onto ‘The Backs’. Not many people have these kind of privileges in what is traditionally a very private world of academia.
Whatever you choose, they all have their own “Je ne sais quoi”…… and are a world away from ‘ordinary’. if you are still looking for “your special location” I hope that you can find some inspiration from the small selection listed here and some of the fabulous ceremonies and couples that I’ve photographed at each of them.
