There are many beautiful historic halls and houses across East Anglia. Vicky and Dan chose Wimpole Hall as the venue for their pre-wedding photography shoot earlier in August. A magnificent 18th century hall designed by John Soane, bequeathed by Rudyard Kipling’s daughter to the National Trust in 1976, its walled gardens and red brick exteriors are a perfect back drop for a relaxed weekend Pre-Wedding Photography shoot with a distinct English country garden feel.
These sessions do incorporate a little bit of a tutorial for couples, teaching them how to pose naturally if they are having any posed shots (remember, I keep them to a minimum!) and discussing with them how and why using a more natural approach to more stylised shots can produce fantastic results. Looking relaxed and happy Vicky and Dan were great fun to photograph. It was particularly easy for me as they both interacted so well with each other, smiling and laughing naturally and generally feeling comfortable with each other, thus making it simple to capture them in natural ‘poses’, with the documentary style shots providing a good balance to the overall shoot.
One thing if you are a photographer – remember that National Trust properties require you to get permission and sometimes pay a fee to photograph on their property and there will be restrictions on how you use the images. This is often a contentious issue particularly over the issue of copy right. However, in this case it was a small price to pay for a very happy couple and I look forward to their wedding in September of this year at Longstowe Hall.
Are you planning to have Pre-Wedding Photography at Wimpole Hall?
