“He who contemplates the depths of Paris is seized with vertigo.
Nothing is more fantastic. Nothing is more tragic.
Nothing is more sublime.” ― Victor Hugo
When I first worked in Paris, France, I walked so much and photographed so much my ankles and feet hurt for days. I spent hours walking along the Seine; adored Montmartre and fell in love with the streets around Rue Pont de Phillipe located between Ile St-Louis and the Marais. It feels like the ‘real’ Paris, and gets ‘under your skin’…….To this day, whenever my feet hurt from so much working and walking I affectionately refer to my fatigue as ‘Paris Ankles’.
Paris is surely one of the most visited cities on the planet, but it is also a stunning location for a gorgeous wedding. Spring and autumn are especially beautiful. The soft light and rich colours of autumn lend themselves to romantic photographs taken as you walk through the streets hand in hand and celebrating your wedding in stylish urban glamour. But perhaps spring is more your thing? Shake off winter and embrace blue skies, drink champagne by the Seine and if it rains……who cares, you’re in Paris and whatever the time of year you’ll have a memorable, beautiful day.
To make things really special, an engagement or post wedding shoot in this glorious city is a must. Embrace Parisian chic and be photographed relaxing at an elegant café looking out on the ever changing tableaux of this wondrous city, or dance across Place du Trocadéro with its jaw dropping view of the Eiffel Tower in the background. And, if you need a break from the city or want something very exclusive there’s only one other place to go…..the Chateau de Versailles. Elegance and grandness that go way off the chart……………….
Paris is a city that I love to return to, to rediscover its charms through different eyes; to paraphrase Honoré de Balzac
“Paris is a true ocean, whose depths you’ll never fully know….there’ll always be something or somewhere new to discover.“
