I have photographed many brides in my career as a wedding photographer. With the more recent launch of a permanent Northamptonshire wedding photography base to complement the wedding photography base that I have in Cambridgeshire, I was out and about in the county; not least to buy my Labrador, Bradley, a new bed but also using the opportunity to say hello to a few people in the area, who like myself, specialise in the luxury wedding market and luxury customer service.
First on my meet and greet was the opportunity to say hello to Charlotte at Charlotte Harley Bridal based at the Heart of the Shires shopping venue near Northampton. This is a gorgeous and stylish contemporary venue for the discerning bride; think exquisite details on fabulous wedding gowns, beautiful shoes by Rachel Simpson and unique hair accessories. The salon has an air of calm elegance within its cool brick walls………..
Charlotte has a keen eye for detail and her passion is to ensure that every bride feels fabulous from the moment they step into the boutique right through to walking down the aisle and beyond into their celebrations.
Says Charlotte ‘Charlotte Harley Bridal offers leading British designed bridal-wear for brides who want only the very best for their day. Cocooned in a converted Victorian barn in the heart of Northamptonshire, we offer the epitome of luxury service with 1:1 bridal stylist consultations, unhurried dedicated personal service and honest opinions. With equally gorgeous bridesmaids’ outfits and accessories available to complement your chosen look we believe it’s a ‘must see’ as part of your journey to one amazing day……………..’
As a Northamptonshire wedding photographer the bride is naturally always the centre of attention on the day and the gown is all important. There is no denying that a beautiful elegant bride makes a photographer’s job that much easier and for me it is always a pleasure when I see a bride in a well fitted, well made and original wedding gown.
I always say to brides beware the cheap ‘knock offs’ from less than reputable sources – I have seen more than one bride despair as her dress starts to fall apart as they are about to walk down the aisle, their dignity only saved by either mine or the bridesmaids quick thinking to remedy the issue with a temporary solution!
My wife is usually the arbiter of good taste in the matter of wedding gowns and I am inclined to agree with her favourites – Anna for her spring wedding at Jermyn’s House, effortlessly elegant in her Pronovia’s strapless gown and matching shrug; Vicky for her autumn wedding at Longstowe Hall in her Maggie Sottero strapless gown with its lace overlay and Swarovski crystal detailing, and Kate for her wedding at Woburn Abbey stunning in the princess elegance of Sassi Holford.
I look forward to having the opportunity to potentially work with Charlotte in the future – maybe to photograph some of the gorgeous wedding gowns that she has in her salon! And in the meantime recommend that any bride who wants to look fabulous on her day should consider heading to Charlotte Harley Bridal………….enjoy!
P.S. I did buy a bed for Bradley. A very large Joules bed which I reckon I could even house a guest or two.
