Louise and Damian’s incredibly elegant wedding was held at Great Fosters and 5 years (!) on I’d like to wish them a very happy anniversary. This was one of those events where I felt ‘at home’, as being the wedding photographer at their day was a recommendation from friends George and Ali whose celebrations in Norfolk I had already photographed.
For Louise, getting married at St Mary’s Church in Thorpe and having their celebrations at Great Fosters was the realisation of a childhood dream and what a perfect day it was with gorgeous blue skies, white clouds and the glorious grounds of this ancient house in which to celebrate romance. I remember we did a great shot of Louise and her guests walking away from the house along a wide tree lined avenue – it reminded me of a polo pitch being walked before a match and we had great fun capturing photos of Louise with best man and ushers Reservoir Dogs style………a mainstream shot these days, but quite ‘avant garde’ a few years ago.
What really makes the day though are the people, and what I loved was the joy and the laughter that just continued through the day. The laughter as Louise got ready, the emotion of Louise being walked down the aisle by her mum and the beautiful trumpet music played by a member of the family (Louise is an accomplished musician herself) all set the tone for the fabulous party afterwards.
I hope that Louise and Damian have had many chances to return to Great Fosters to celebrate and I also want to thank them for the great recommendations that they gave me. It was an amazing day and I wish them all the very best for continued happiness……..
