About two years ago I had the privilege of photographing Roger and Hanako for their wedding at Hengrave Hall. Since then they have had a beautiful baby daughter Momoka and I was delighted when they invited me back to do a family lifestyle portrait shoot.
Hanako happily informed me her father was also very pleased I would be doing a lifestyle family portrait shoot. Hanako’s father has a lot of expertise in being able to appreciate good quality photography and her family boasts many professional photographers so I always feel honoured by praise from them.
On a very cold autumn day we started the session in the warmth of their home with a session focused on Momoka playing – great fun! For children’s portrait photography it is always important to get both children and parents to relax and have fun if you are to avoid ‘cheesy smiles’ and ‘sterile’ family portraits
With the equine background that they have it was only natural that the family paid a visit to the stables where we were treated to Momoka being affectionately nuzzled by one of the horses! Photographing ‘on location’ means looking for natural props (including horses!) and what better on this occasion than the back drop of the stables where we were able to get some really relaxed family lifestyle portrait.
A great day and a great pleasure to work with Roger and Hanako once more……
