The kind of place that dreams are made of!

Castello di Vincigliata, Florence, Italy

Dream Castle Wedding Venue Near Florence

Castello di Vincigliata near Florence is, in my opinion, one of the most romantic Italian castle wedding venues, one that dreams are made of. This is the type of stunning venue that will make you and you guests go WOW when you see it for the first time and is loved by ‘mere mortals’, celebrities and the super rich alike who appreciate beauty on an amazing scale.

The unbelievable building and position high in the hills above Florence make this one of the most stunning Tuscan castles imaginable. The views of Florence during the day are breath taking whether viewed from the garden terrace or the imposing tower and take on a new dimension as the sun goes down and the lights of the city come on. It is the perfect fairy-tale venue for both your ceremony and celebrations, with several potential reception areas including a central courtyard, orangery, beautiful garden and large rooms within the castle its self.

This has to be one of my all time favourite wedding venues and I cannot believe how lucky I have been to have photographed here on more than one occasion. I cannot imagine for one moment that you will be anything other than deliriously happy having your celebrations here.

5 Things You Need to Know For Getting Married in Italy

  • There are specific legal requirements to comply with to ensure your marriage is legal. Seek advice from someone who knows what you have to do, for example your wedding planner or travel agent.
  • Think carefully about the time of day you choose for the ceremony. If you are marrying in high summer, early evening provides great light for photography and is infinitely cooler therefore reducing the risk of people dehydrating or worse fainting from the heat!
  • There are mosquitoes in Italy so if you don’t want to get bitten and have to spend an inordinate amount treating bites and covering them up take precautions to protect your skin from the little buzzers!
  • Think about how your guests will get to the venue. Many people are not comfortable driving overseas and you do need to be a confident driver to manage local roads in Italy, although the motorways are not too bad.
  • Don’t feel obliged to book a ‘package’ of local suppliers if the suppliers offered don’t fit with the vision of your day. Work with your planner or organiser to ensure that you have your ‘dream team’ of people that are experts in their field and are also used to working internationally if they are ordinarily based in the UK or elsewhere outside of Italy.
