Historic Wedding Venue In the Heart of Oxfordshire

Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire

Imagine yourself celebrating at one of England’s most important houses, wandering through Blenheim Palace immaculate interiors and walking across its stunning grounds, just married and enjoying every moment of it. This Palace is a luxury venue with probably very few equals and I think I have adored this place since ‘the picnic years’ when I, my wife and a bunch of friends would love to get a picnic together and spend lazy summer afternoons in its magnificent grounds. It felt like another world, gentle rolling acres interspersed with gracefully arched bridges and beautiful lakes all kept watch on by the magnificent testament to architecture that is the Palace.

Wedding Photography and Baroque Beauty at Blenheim Palace

It’s an idyllic venue that I would love to revisit as a photographer capturing a fairytale wedding, naturally, beautifully.

  • A Grand Venue for a Grand Affair…
There is history in bucket loads. A UNESCO World Heritage site and birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, its Capability Brown landscaped gardens and opulent interiors represent Baroque on a vast scale, but yet it is still exquisite and entirely right also for a gorgeous boutique style or a grand aristocratic style ceremony and celebration.

The cool white of The Orangery with its gorgeous view of the immaculate Italian Gardens provides the perfect space for more intimate celebrations, the private entrance adding to its exclusivity. Its high ceilings and arched windows flooding the room with wonderful light that’s perfect for capturing your day naturally.

For a grand affair the Saloon with its walls and ceilings painted by Louis Laguerre is the epitome of lavish and it is still a State Dining Room used by the Marlborough family, so where better to hold your own reception.

Enchanting celebrations must of course include stunning water features and fountains and a grand entrance. The Palace’s colonnades, uplit in the evening, provide that grand entrance and if you want dining on a grand scale the Long Library will accommodate 300 of your closest friends and welcome you with 10,000 books, all overlooking the beautiful Water Terrace. Expect yourself and your guests to be suitably wowed.

Some of my early days in photography were spent roaming the acres of this wonderful house and its grounds and I cannot imagine a grander or more gorgeous place in which to hold a celebration of such an important day.

  • An Enchanting Day, Captured Naturally….
An incredible venue for your amazing day deserves beautiful photography that you will treasure for a lifetime. What better way to remember such an important day than with stunning digital images beautifully presented in black and white and colour ready for you to print, or in a bespoke leather album that you can treasure for a lifetime; a magical day captured against a backdrop of beautifully laid out grounds, world class architecture and stunning frescoes.
